LL Ribbon Cutting

The Life Launch Grant was designed to intentionally inspire a new season of growth for pregnancy help centers in underserved communities in need of more life-saving outreach as an alternative to Big Abortion, and to help start-ups open their doors and advance pregnancy help to new communities in the U.S.

“Each of these stories is a snapshot of the life-affirming work that is being done in pregnancy help centers across the globe… These are the stories that remind us that every life is precious.”

Ruth and Victor's Story

victor goes to Congress article BBB 1

In 2013, Ruth was referred for an abortion by one of her specialty doctors. As he talked with her, he assured Ruth it was the best option. Ruth visited “yet one more specialist” who referred her to the Pregnancy Care Center (PCC) of Wooster, Ohio.

When Ruth arrived at the pregnancy center she was scared, unsure of what would take place during an abortion and very confused.

Her main question was, “why would my doctor tell me to have an abortion if it isn’t the best thing to do?”

The pregnancy center staff and client advocates worked together to supply Ruth with the information she needed to make an informed decision. She chose life for her baby boy and named him “Victor.”

Victor was also the first baby PCC viewed through its ultrasound services in January 2014!

Ruth has been a strong advocate for the Center in the last eight years since Victor was born. Through banquet testimonies, newsletter articles and sharing her testimony with other women, Ruth has saved and changed lives for eternity.

Even as she was pregnant with Victor, Ruth brought in a friend who was also planning to have an abortion. Ruth’s friend left her appointment and the pregnancy center with a changed decision to also carry her baby!

Today Victor is 8 years old.Victor OH

It is not uncommon for him and his mom to visit the Center, always ready to hug everyone and tell us he loves us.

At our 2020 annual banquet, Victor through a personal appearance, shared that his mom had a scary time when he was in her tummy, but she came to the pregnancy center and the people there helped her.

During PCC's 2021 banquet, Victor served as a greeter and talked with people as they arrived. He is one special guy! We, at the PCC, are excited to see what the Lord has in store for him!

Victor spoke at our 2020 Friends for Life Banquet by welcoming guests and keynote speaker, Jor-El Godsey of Heartbeat International.

Manuela and Oliver's Story

Baby Oliver 3

Manuela and her partner made a bad decision and had a lot of doubt about the resulting pregnancy.

They had immediate regret after Manuela took the abortion pill.

“I got home, and I felt I had made a terrible decision and I didn’t know what to do,” she said.

Manuela felt a sense of urgency and searched for information on the internet.

“I found APR [Abortion Pill Reversal], and that’s what led me to Crossroads Pregnancy Center,” she said. “I thank God every day.”

There are only three pregnancy help centers in South Carolina that provide Abortion Pill Reversal as a service.

Tears began flowing when the Crossroads staff performed the ultrasound that confirmed baby Oliver still had a heartbeat.Baby Oliver

“I’m so happy it worked,” Manuela said.

“I would say to other women in this situation that I know how you feel,” said Manuela. “I know that you feel scared, and you don’t know what you should do. But just know that there’s a God who loves you and who makes everything right – all you have to do is trust in Him and He’ll pull you through this.”

The process was very simple and easy, she said.

“And it worked,” Manuela said. “And Oliver’s here with us and we couldn’t be happier.”

Zayda and Delia Jo's Story

Delia Jo 1

When I found out I was pregnant I was very, very scared and in shock. I was only 14 years old.

My Granny googled “closest pregnancy center” and read some reviews about Reliance and suggested that I make an appointment.

When I went to Reliance, I was really nervous, but they were all so kind. When I got the results that I was for sure pregnant – I felt my heart drop because I knew that my life was changing and I wasn’t sure that I wanted to keep this baby.

I wanted an abortion because I knew that my life would change and I thought that I couldn’t rodeo anymore and my parents wouldn’t support me. I even thought that my boyfriend Cole would not want me to keep the baby. Neither of us knew what abortion really was, but we just knew we weren’t ready to be parents.

After the test, I went into the ultrasound room and when I saw my baby, she had arms and legs…the first thought that came to my mind was “that is my baby!” I knew then that abortion wasn’t an option.

My Granny came in and saw the ultrasound and the nurse gave me so much helpful information. The next day I told my mom, and her reaction was way better than I thought. I saw that I did have support.

Reliance made my whole pregnancy easier and helped me see the value of my life and my baby’s life.

Zayda and Delia Jo ID

Cole, my boyfriend, even says that if it wasn’t for Reliance, he knows that our daughter Delia wouldn’t be here.

People tell you that it’s just a clump of cells and Reliance helped us see that it was a baby with a heart and a beautiful life. I attended childbirth classes and have received so much material support when I couldn’t afford to buy formula and diapers.

The support at Reliance is amazing – we couldn’t do this without them. Delia is 2 years old now and I can’t imagine my life without her. I have started to rodeo again, and Delia loves horses. My life is incredible, not easy, but it’s so worth it…Reliance helped me see that.

NEW REPORT: Pregnancy help organizations expand services and reach, adapting to new state laws and abortion pathways

Heartbeat releases the latest Life Trends 2022 Report

Columbus, OH: Heartbeat International released a report highlighting the findings of the services provided within their network of more than 3,000 pregnancy help locations worldwide. The Life Trends 2022 Report also underscores unique ways that the pregnancy help movement serves women through not only pregnancy centers, but also mobile medical units, maternity homes, and Abortion Pill Reversal.

“The Life Trends 2022 Report shows another phenomenal year of pregnancy help making a powerful difference through pregnancy centers and their movement partners like mobile medical units, maternity homes, not to mention critical focused outreach like Abortion Pill Reversal,” said Heartbeat International president, Jor-El Godsey. “Together pregnancy help is a broad and thriving movement making a difference for life!”

As chemical abortions now account for 54 percent of all abortions in the U.S., Heartbeat International’s Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN) continues to experience growth, showing a 173 percent increase in reversal starts since 2019, highlighting the fact that as use of the abortion pill expands, so does the need for reversal.

The report looks at political trends in the U.S. as well, highlighting the impact the Texas “Heartbeat Law” which prohibits abortions after a heartbeat is detected (~8 weeks) had on pregnancy centers after being enacted in September. From the report, 49 percent of the centers indicated seeing an increase of clients after the law was enacted. Abortions in Texas fell 59% from August 2021 to September 2021.[i]

“We are witnessing history being made in real-time as states enact abortion-related laws nationwide and we’ve seen how swiftly our centers can adapt to these changes. Every woman deserves love and support during an unexpected pregnancy,” Andrea Trudden, Heartbeat’s vice president of communications and marketing said. “No matter where a woman is in her pregnancy journey, the pregnancy help network provides essential care and support – often at no cost – and will continue to do so because it is the right thing to do.”

Trend: Chemical Abortion

Chemical abortions have been increasingly preferred by abortion providers for years. 54% of all abortions are now performed through the abortion pill.[ii]

Trend: Abortion Pill Reversal

Heartbeat's Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN) connects women who regret taking the first dose of the abortion pill regimen to a network of medical professionals trained to administer the reversal protocol.

Ukrainian Life Reach Global

Ukrainian National Crisis Pregnancy Aid Hotline - Ukraine

The Ukrainian National Crisis Pregnancy Aid Hotline is a charitable organization.

Our Vision: Saving the lives of unborn children and the salvation of their mothers and fathers.

Our Mission: To help women who are in crisis due to pregnancy, to make a choice in favor of life. Reducing the number of abortions in Ukraine. Changing the mentality of the Ukrainian people on the issue of the value of human life.

In Ukraine, 67% of women, who have had an abortion admit that they would save their pregnancy and their child's future if they had support and financial assistance. We began our work in the spring of 2013.

Thanks to the charitable contributions of caring people, we can support these women with food, clothing, childcare, and household items, support before and after childbirth, provide accommodation, and help with paperwork, if necessary.

As a result, women who received help and care remain pregnant and new Ukrainians are born. Mother and child get a new life and a future. These are usually women (families) in difficult life circumstances. For them, this is a challenge and a problem that they find difficult to cope with on their own. In this difficult time for women (families), we are there to help with special needs and support women when they need it the most. We want them to know there is hope. There is hope today, and there is hope for the future.

This all is made possible by the dedicated work of the fund specialists and volunteers.

We provide free of charge:
   - Qualified online counseling
   - Phone and in-person counseling
   - Practical assistance with food, clothing, childcare items
   - Comprehensive assistance (counseling, accommodation in the House of Transformation, preparation, and support before and after childbirth).

Our basic principles are acceptance, personalized approach, and high competency.

The attitude to the murder of unborn children in Ukraine is the attitude to each other and to the world. Our country exists only because we are alive: Ukraine can’t exist without its people.

The war in Ukraine

Everything that’s happening now in Ukraine is heartache for us. We are losing Ukrainian children being murdered in occupied cities and the number of abortions increased and are being massively performed. The Lord shook us hard and called us to enter a new spiritual position. We can be light for a lot of people by spreading the Gospel. We are trying to show our clients the spiritual reality of what has been happening.

Our organization is not big but mobile, we don’t need bureaucracy. This gives us the ability to help women directly and react fast to the needs our clients have.

Our ministry center is in the Western part of Ukraine in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. A huge number of refugees from the east occupied cities among them pregnant women and women with newborn babies escape to this part of Ukraine which is not occupied. The majority of them have serious PTSD and need counseling. Some need humanitarian help: food, medication, clothes, care items for babies, and housing. Through counseling, material, and financial support we are sharing God’s love with them. We are trying to answer their needs as much as we can with everything we have.

Now we provide housing and all necessary care for two pregnant women, one of them with a 2-year-old toddler whose house in Lysychansk (Luhansk region) was destroyed. We also take care of 12 pregnant women that escaped from occupation and each day we receive more women in crisis pregnancies.

We would like to invite you to become our prayer and financial partners to save lives of the unborn children in Ukraine and contribute to the future of Ukraine.

All financial gifts received designated for our approved “alliance” affiliates will be forwarded to them in a reasonable timeframe (usually upon exceeding $250US). Heartbeat International deducts $30 plus 3% from the transfer, to help defray internal cost for money transfers, currency conversion, clerical costs, bank fees, and any processing fees that might be charged. Should any funds be unable to be forwarded – primarily related to the recipient - they may be re-allocated for similar international work.

Kharkov Pregnancy Assistance Center - Ukraine

The city of Kharkov is located in the north-east of Ukraine, Eastern Europe. This city is the second largest after our capital Kiev (population 1.5 million). For 100 years in Ukraine there has been a law on the legalization of abortion (adopted in the USSR in 1920, and has not been abolished in Ukraine until now, including all 30 years of independence). During this period, there were other events that prematurely claimed the lives of people, namely: the Holodomor of the 30's of the twentieth century, dictatorial repressions and World War II. The population of Ukraine has more than halved and continues to decline. Today, medical abortion has become the most popular and readily available. According to gynecologists, 15% of abortions are performed by girls under the age of 18.

Kharkiv Pregnancy Assistance Center (KPAC) is a ministry for the protection of human life and family, founded in 2003. We offer pregnancy support through our counseling lines through the website, social media and all existing messengers. We provide material support to pregnant women and mothers with little babies in difficult life circumstances. We teach and encourage parents how to care for and educate their babies. We serve women in abortion recovery groups. We organize and deliver True Love Waits program for high school students to introduce young people to the biblical understanding of sexuality, the value of life and family.

Our Vision: A world in which every child will be welcome.

Our Goal: To protect the person inside the mother's womb, to turn the hearts of parents to children, to reduce the demand for abortion in our society, relying on the Word of God and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, to practice mercy, to convey truth, turning fears into confidence and confusion into the hope for the future.

Client Testimony:
unnamedBaby Eva says:

“When I saw the light, it was hard for me to breathe. Something squeezed my chest, my lungs did not fully open. They put me under an oxygen pillow. Sometimes I heard my mother's voice, but more often strangers in white coats and masks. But soon everything changed, and I ended up only with my mother. It was very hot, stuffy, but my mother was there, and I felt more cheerful. I am very glad that new people are chirping around me, it's funny to watch and sniff them. I do not like clothes at all and am suspicious of water. Some familiar woman appeared, who consoles my mother all the time, sometimes they pray together, they envelops me in a kind of cloud. We also drove far away together, it was a pleasure. It's still interesting to live, although a little scary. Mom notices that I always want to see where, who is doing what, and does not allow me to be ignored. Mom thinks that I am afraid that I will not be forgotten. And it is true. The feeling that I might be unnecessary to anyone and the fear that they want to get rid of me. I am Eva and I am already 2.5 months old"

No one has ever heard the voice of a baby inside the womb, we do not know for sure what he feels and what he understands. His feelings, knowledge and voice in his heartbeat. The maternity center is determined to listen to this signal of life and pave the way for it.

Kayla's Story

KAYLA’S STORY

Serenity Grace— Born January 2021

It was May of 2020, and the world was still on a Covid-19 lockdown when Kayla learned she was pregnant. Unfortunately, her new relationship became explosive and she had to end it. Now in her thirties, with two older children, the thought of starting over while alone as a single mother was overwhelming. Though she had always identified as a pro-life Christian, panic set in and she began to believe abortion was her only option.

Determined to try to “fix” her situation, Kayla began a chemical abortion. “I took it (the first abortion pill) in hand and for a few seconds I looked down at the pill,” she recalled. “The still small voice saying, ‘Kayla, what are you doing? Are you sure about this?’ That voice was drowned out by an ever-louder voice, she said, shouting, ‘It’s too late, you’re already here and you’ve already made your decision so follow through!’”

After swallowing the first abortion pill and being sent home with the second pill, Kayla felt “cold, numb, alone and afraid.” Less than 24-hours after, she cried out to God asking Him to save her baby.

Kayla searched the internet for help and found Heartbeat International`s Abortion Pill Reversal website. She was connected to a compassionate nurse who answered her questions and found a local provider to begin the progesterone reversal treatment to save her baby`s life. In addition, Kayla began a cross-country move from CA to FL the day after starting the abortion pill reversal regimen, and Heartbeat’s network was able to provide her with immediate help from coast to coast.

In January of 2021, she delivered a healthy baby girl named Serenity Grace. Kayla told Heartbeat, “I hope to encourage, even if just one woman, to trust God if you are, like I was, in a dark and scary place of an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy, because life is a gift. There is hope. Trust God! For His love is everlasting.”
