Hosted by national Abortion Recovery Coalition leaders, this forum will share the value of abortion recovery ministry and how it fits into the life of pregnancy centers. It will address the following questions: Who’s who in abortion recovery? What’s different in abortion recovery in 2020? Where does abortion healing fit into your ministry? When should healing begin? How to reach the hurting? Why healing is necessary?

Learn how you can transform moments of profound grief into opportunities for healing, support, and compassionate care.

Objectives:

• Distinguish communication approaches that facilitate emotional healing rather than
  intensify emotional pain in those enduring a miscarriage.
• Utilize the learned communicative strategies that help to counteract the emotional trauma that often accompanies a
  miscarriage.

To better assist our clients and patients and to protect against vicarious trauma, it is helpful to gain a deeper understanding of our own grief history. This course offers self-guided reflections and exercises that will broaden our appreciation of the uniqueness of our own and other’s grief journey. Obstacles to grieving, grieving styles, practical ways to memorialize loss, and the ability to grow through loss are also covered as we explore how to grieve well.
