Maternity home work requires knowledge, understanding, and practical application in multiple areas such as handling trauma, recovery, and mental health issues. Could there be more behind some of the behaviors and issues that present themselves within your homes? Do you feel equipped to handle learning differences and disabilities in your home? Executive functioning issues are very common and are the source of the brain's "management system" that plans, organizes, makes decisions, and follows-through with tasks. This can affect your resident's ability to fully engage in programs, care for their children and prepare for independent living. This session will focus on learning about executive functioning disabilities and how to teach these skills in your program so that the goal is not just compliance but thriving!
