WHAT IS THE LIFE LAUNCH GRANT?

Life Launch, a Pregnancy Help Center Start-Up Grant, is dedicated to inspiring a new season of pregnancy help center start-ups by supporting individuals and/or established organizations open in underserved communities. Following a matching grant format, grant recipients would receive $30,000 in resources and funds upon raising $30,000 in funds.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE LIFE LAUNCH GRANT?

The Life Launch Grant is designed to support new pregnancy help center start-ups open their doors, advancing pregnancy help in those underserved communities. In some select cases, existing pregnancy help centers planning to open a new satellite location or pregnancy help centers who have opened their doors no more than 6 months prior to submitting their grant application may be eligible. Maternity homes and non-profit adoption agencies are excluded from this grant program.

HOW DO I APPLY?

The first step to apply to be accepted into the Life Launch grant program is to complete the initial qualification assessment. The qualification assessment will help to identify if your center qualifies as a start-up pregnancy help center in an underserved community. The Heartbeat team will then review all submitted qualification assessments and invite eligible centers to apply for the Life Launch grant.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION RESOURCE PACKAGE?

Candidates who have passed the initial qualification assessment are invited to apply for the Life Launch Grant and are eligible to receive $1,000 in Heartbeat resources for just $150 (That’s an 85% discount)! The resources included will aid applicants with the application process. The resources are yours to keep regardless of the outcome of your application. Some items included in the package will be available upon acceptance to the Life Launch program. Should you be accepted into the program, the $150 investment will be credited to your grant program resource fund. WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME ASSOCIATED WITH THE GRANT PROGRAM?

ASSESSMENT | The initial qualification assessment will help to identify if each candidate qualifies as a start-up pregnancy help center in an underserved community. The assessment may be completed at any time. Visit our website www.heartbeatinternational.org/life-launch-grant and follow the link to complete the online assessment.

APPLICATION | Candidates will receive a follow-up response concerning their submitted assessments to inform them if they qualify to apply for the Life Launch grant. Candidates will be informed of any potential next steps within two weeks. Should you be invited to apply for the Life Launch grant, the application window will be open September 1 - October 31.

RESOURCES, SERVICES & FUNDS RECEIVED | Initial resources will be made available to grant recipients upon acceptance into the Life Launch grant program. Grant recipients agree to raise $30,000 in funds no later than twelve months after being accepted into the grant program. Upon raising $30,000, grant recipients will receive $15,000 in funds. Upon completion of their first year of client services, grant recipients will receive a legal review which then unlocks the final $5,000 in funds. Grant recipients will receive all funds no later than two years after being accepted into the grant program. Some resources will still be available to grant recipients after the two-year mark depending on when the resources were unlocked (i.e. Heartbeat Affiliation, Extend Web Services, and Next Level CMS).

WHAT IS AVAILABLE UPON ACCEPTANCE INTO THE GRANT PROGRAM?

Grant recipients will receive $30,000 in resources and funds. Upon acceptance into the Life Launch grant program, grant recipients will receive their first of three years of Heartbeat Affiliation, Heartbeat International’s Pregnancy Help Starter Kit, access to Heartbeat International’s fundraising webinars (fundraising 101, fundraising 102, and fundraising for matching grants), and their first of two years of Extend Web Services (both client and donor websites are included). Upon raising $30,000 in funds (within one year of acceptance into the Life Launch grant program), grant recipients will receive $15,000 in funds and their first of two years of Next Level CMS intake and data collection services. Grant recipients will also receive a scholarship to attend Pregnancy Help Institute at Heartbeat International’s headquarters in Columbus in July as well as an on-site Board of Directors Training by a Heartbeat specialist. Upon completion of their first year of client services, grant recipients will receive a legal review which then unlocks the final $5,000 in funds.

HOW LONG DO GRANT RECIPIENTS HAVE TO RAISE $30,000?

Life Launch grant recipients agree to raise $30,000 in funds within one year of acceptance into the grant program, unlocking $15,000 in funds.

CAN I SPEND THE GRANT FUNDS ON ANYTHING?

Grant recipients will receive $30,000 in resources, services, and funds. $10,000 of those funds are pre-designated to Heartbeat resources and services including Heartbeat Affiliation, Heartbeat training materials, Extend Web Services, on-site Board of Directors training, Pregnancy Help Institute scholarship, and Next Level CMS intake and data collection services. Along with the listed pre-designated resources and services, grant recipients will receive up to $1,600 in resource funds that may be used toward other Heartbeat Academy training resources, attendance to the Heartbeat Annual Conference, pro-life teaching resources etc. update that FAQ clarifying that the $20,000K in funds may be spent on any organization budget items. Grant recipients will receive $15,000 in funds upon raising $30,000 and another $5,000 after their first year of client services and upon receiving a legal review, totaling $20,000 in funds. The $20,000 in funds may be spent on any organization budget items.
