The track being considered is The 8 Essentials of Leading Teams and it focuses beyond leading oneself to leading others.
The 8 essentials addressed are as follows:

We are proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Italy-based pro-life organization, Movimento per la Vita. The collaborative partnership adds 398 new affiliates to the Heartbeat International family, bolstering our position as the largest network of pro-life pregnancy help organizations in the world, with 1,800 affiliates.
We are able to expand and reach new regions of the earth because of YOUR support!
“We are very pleased to announce this partnership with Movimento per la Vita,” said Peggy Hartshorn, Ph.D., in her 21st year as president of Heartbeat International. “We already share so much in common with these friends, and I personally look forward to what we will learn from them as our relationship grows.”
Our agreement with Movimento per la Vita was officially signed by the organization’s founder, Carlo Casini, at Italy’s March for Life in Rome on May 13, amid 40,000 marchers, including newly elected Pope Francis.
Founded in 1975, Movimento per la Vita—much like Heartbeat International—was founded to provide women with abortion alternatives three years before the procedure was legalized in its country, and now includes 338 pregnancy centers and 60 maternity homes, providing life-affirming help to women and families in need.
Movimento per la Vita also operates a pregnancy helpline, SOS Vita, which connects
women facing difficult situations involving unexpected pregnancies to local centers, referred to as Centri di aiuto alla Vita (CaV).
The helpline operated by Movimento per la Vita distinctly parallels Heartbeat International’s Option Line®, a 24/7 call center connecting women and men facing unexpected pregnancies with real-time help and face-to-face contact with local pregnancy help centers.
We are very excited about this new partnership and all of the opportunities it represents. We pray that, with YOUR continued partnership, God would cause us to continue advancing the pregnancy help movement around the world!
The phone rang at Heartbeat's Option Line. Anastacia answered, eager to listen and counsel the caller on the line. Nothing could have prepared her for what happened next.
Lori (age 18) was on the other end of the line. Lori had just given birth to a baby girl alone early that morning. Now she was calling from outside of a hospital in NYC where she planned to leave the baby but she didn't want to be seen. Desperate for help, Lori called Option Line.
Anastacia asked Lori how she was doing and if the baby had been fed. Lori answered that she didn't have milk and didn't know how to breast feed. Anastacia could hear the
baby "cooing" over the phone.
It was now early evening, many hours after Lori gave birth, and the baby was in dire need of food and medical attention. Anastacia instructed Lori to stay put while she called for help. Through Option Line's connection to Safe Haven in NYC, the baby was rescued and admitted to the hospital within a couple of hours.
Later that evening, a representative from Safe Haven called Anastacia to let her know that all was well and the baby was doing just fine!
If not for Heartbeat's Option Line that precious baby girl may not have survived.
Option Line is available 24/7 to answer calls, texts, chats, and emails from women in distress, just like Lori. Option Line provides the help women need at the moment they need it most.
Heartbeat's Option Line exists because of faithful partners, like you. You can ensure that the next call will be answered.
Your gift will reach and rescue lives from abortion today! Thank you for partnering with us in this great work.

Sign a Letter to Elected Representatives Heartbeat is sending a letter to elected, federal Representatives, urging them to support legislation holding abortion clinics accountable. As seen in the Dr. Kermit Gosnell trial, abortion clinics often perform unlawful, dangerous, and inhumane procedures without the supervision of city, state, or federal authorities. Dr. Gosnell's practices are not isolated incidents. Many women and babies lose their lives due to these overlooked, illegal actions. |

PHILADELPHIA, PA --- Unemployed and struggling to provide for herself and her 2-year-old daughter with unemployment checks, the last thing Matennah could afford was another child.
Ready or not, as 2011 dawned, Matennah found herself pregnant and headed to the doctor’s office alone for an ultrasound. What she found there left her, in her words, “crying like a child.”
Twins.
By this time, Matennah’s boyfriend, the father of her twins, was in jail, leaving her with virtually no support system to help care for her growing family. Though Matennah saw the twins as a double blessing, those closest to her urged her to consider other options.
Where would she turn? Who could help? What solution was best.
Matennah opened the Yellow Pages, holding the bulk of the book in her right hand while she browsed with her left thumb to the “A” section.
Toward the end of the section loomed the euphemistic words, “Women’s Medical Society,” whose presiding doctor, Kermit Gosnell, had been arrested just days earlier.
The beginning of the section, however, turned out to be Matennah’s salvation. It was a listing called Alpha Pregnancy Services, a Heartbeat International affiliate pregnancy help center located in the heart of the City of Brotherly Love.
We met Matennah and her three daughters, Biana, Alena, and Chloe, at our Babies Go to Congress event in January 2013, where she had the chance to show and tell lawmakers that pregnancy help centers are good for America.
Alpha Pregnancy Services is 2.5 miles from Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” clinic, where a woman in Matennah’s shoes, Karnamaya Mongar (pictured right), was butchered—in the words of one congressman—by Gosnell within a year of Matennah’s unexpected pregnancy.
Just think about that. Matennah was literally within pages and city blocks of darkening the doors to the now-most infamous abortuary in America.
B
ut instead, Matennah found a pregnancy help center that not only equipped her with the help she needed to choose life for her two precious daughters, but is now helping Matennah raise her three daughters with practical resources, job skills training, and parenting assistance.
This is why Heartbeat International and our network of over 1,400 life-affirming organizations exist. We exist so that women and families like Matennah can live and thrive. We exist so that no woman ever feels so alone, coerced or hopeless that she ends her child’s life through abortion.
Make no mistake about it. This is a life and death issue.
Death on the one hand for—at the very least—every unborn child whose mother walks into an abortion clinic. Life on the other for every one of the 1,000,000 children, mothers, and families who visit pregnancy help centers each year.
Women like Matennah deserve better than abortion—regardless of whether our culture labels those facilities as filthy “Houses of Horror” or pristine “Centers for Reproductive Health.” Each woman in Matennah’s situation deserves the kind of emotional support and practical resources during an unexpected pregnancy that Alpha Pregnancy Services has given her.
Won’t you give today to support this life-saving, death-defying work? Heartbeat International thanks you. Alpha Pregnancy Services thanks you.
Most importantly, Matennah and her three daughters thank you.
