Heartbeat Academy

This workshop will provide an overview of the nationwide effort of the Catholic Church to increase support for pregnant and parenting mothers through "Walking with Moms in Need," and how it can augment the work of local pregnancy help organizations. It will highlight opportunities for centers to collaborate with local Catholic parishes to build relationships and increase support for the center and provide ongoing support to clients through personal accompaniment.

This workshop equips pregnancy help staff, volunteers, and community leaders to effectively support both women and men impacted by abortion using the L.O.V.E. Approach—Listen and Learn, Open Options, Vision and Value, Extend and Empower. Participants will gain practical tools to navigate sensitive conversations, understand the emotional and relational effects of abortion, and create safe, supportive environments for healing. Through interactive teaching, discussion, and role-play, attendees will learn strategies to reach out with empathy, provide resources, and walk alongside individuals seeking restoration. Whether new to this area of care or experienced, this workshop offers actionable steps to extend compassion, understanding, and hope.

Leaders will learn how to guide women in embracing God’s unfailing love, breaking free from fear and shame, and walking in the freedom and joy of full redemption. inviting women to step into the redemptive love of God. Using Psalm 130:7 as a foundation—“Put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and full redemption”—we will explore how God’s love is not partial, conditional, or shame-based.

This session will speak directly to the fear and shame that keep many post-abortive women in silence. We’ll address how fear robs joy and how God’s perfect love casts it out. Participants will be encouraged to release the false labels they’ve carried and to stop letting the abortion be the lens through which they view their lives. God’s love does not merely cover your past—it redefines your future. When women embrace that truth, they are empowered to share boldly, live freely, and love fully.

This workshop aims to assist PRC counselors in effectively supporting clients who have experienced trauma by identifying overlooked issues and tactics clients use to conceal pain due to shame or guilt. Drawing from personal healing experiences, it offers practical strategies for building trust, encouraging openness, and creating a safe environment, especially for women hesitant to share sensitive experiences related to rape, abortion, or promiscuity, and includes case studies and a Q&A session for further learning.

In this workshop, you will discover a fresh approach to abortion healing/recovery that focuses on the trauma of abortion, past experiences that have shaped and wounded one's identity, and those experiences that left them vulnerable to an abortion decision, and lastly provides tools and a path to healing that applies to many areas of brokenness in one's life.
