Forwarding Calls to Option Line

Current affiliates of Heartbeat International can forward calls to Option Line after hours as a complimentary benefit of affiliation.
In order to take advantage of this benefit, just set your call forwarding to 1-800-712-4357. If you don't currently use call forwarding, you'll need to contact your telephone company to get that set up. Be sure to ask your telephone service provider whether setting up an auto-attendant is an option; an auto-attendant makes it possible to direct crisis calls to Option Line, while leaving callers who are not in crisis with the option of leaving a message on your center’s voicemail system.
There is no additional paperwork or permission needed on our end. But, we do ask you to simply call Option Line on our business line (614-802-2808) to let us know when you're ready to start.
We also welcome call forwarding as needed during your regular hours (for example, during staff meetings or if you are short-staffed), but we ask that you call to notify us know when you'll be available again, so we can pass that information on to your clients.
Option Line is available 24/7, including all holidays, so we can take your calls for extended periods of time as well. Once again, we ask that you notify us as to how long you'll be gone, so we can best serve your clients.
We recommend you train all staff (who are on the phones) to turn call forwarding on/off to make sure your calls always get to the right place at the right time.
It is a pleasure to serve you, and as always, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any questions.

Thank You Letter August 2025

August 2025
Dear ___________,
We’re so proud of the legacy that we’re leaving behind in the lives of countless clients in our community. Both the mothers and babies who have been spared from their decision to abort, we celebrate them!
Thank you for your recent gift, which allows us to serve these clients. As a small token of our gratitude, here’s a little gift to you, some client responses to our in-house exit interview:
[list some blurbs from actual clients…either from internet reviews or from exit surveys]
Examples:
● Wonderful staff!! All are super kind, friendly, and overall amazing.
● I was nervous coming in today because I've never been in this situation before, but I'm glad I did. The staff was very friendly and professional.
● I had a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone.
While this feedback is great for our staff and supporters, at the end of the day, we’re blessed to be able to meet the needs of our at-risk moms at fragile times in their lives.
Wishing you a blessed August,

Honoring Years of Partnership and Dedicated Affiliates
Heartbeat International honored pregnancy help organizations celebrating milestone anniversaries at its 2026 Annual Pregnancy Help Conference. Heartbeat International Affiliation Coordinator Alaina Wood and Director of Affiliate Services Kathy Jerman delivered the awards to recipients for their recognized 25 and 50 years of service. Below are the heartfelt words spoken on behalf of all the Heartbeat International staff.
by Alaina Wood, Affiliation Coordinator
It has been such a blessing to see so many of you this week, and it is always a pleasure to put faces to the voices I’ve connected with by phone and email.
You may have heard from me when it’s time to renew your affiliation with Heartbeat, or I may have had the chance to speak with you when you’ve called looking for guidance or support.
It’s truly a joy to come alongside you and help connect you with the people and encouragement found through Heartbeat.
I have the honor of celebrating with you—organizations that have consistently shown up face to face with women, men, and families in their communities for decades. With determination, perseverance, and deep faith, these organizations have stood firm in their commitment to life for 25 and 50 years.
With compassion for each person created in God’s image, they have faithfully said yes to His calling day after day. They have prayed, dreamed, faced challenges, grown, and rejoiced—praising the Lord for His grace, guidance, and provision every step of the way.
In those face-to-face moments, they have shared the love of God with countless women, so that each one may know how fearfully and wonderfully made she is—and in turn, pass that love on to her child.
Because of this faithful, ongoing work, we celebrate the organizations that opened their doors in 2001, marking 25 years of faithful service to women and families:
Alliance for Life Missouri: Marsha Middleton
Options Pregnancy Center: Vikki Parker, Marsha Bailey
Smoky Mountain Pregnancy Care Center: Michelle Finnie, Karen Whitley, Krista Young, Pamela Bowen

We also honor those who opened their doors in 1976, marking an incredible 50 years of ministry and lasting legacy:
Guiding Star Wakota: Kenyatta Hardaway, Monica Elias
Solve Maternity Home: Peggy Kerwin

We’re so grateful for your faithfulness and deeply encouraged by the way God has sustained and guided your work over the years. It’s a privilege to see what He has done through you.
As we think about the calling each of you carry—whether you are just beginning, in the middle of the journey, or celebrating many years of ministry—we’re reminded of this promise from Thessalonians:
“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father—who loved us and by His grace gives us eternal encouragement and good hope—encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.” Selah
May He give you endurance, wisdom, and joy in the work you do each day—faithfully serving for 25 years, for 50 years, and many more to come.

Our Commitment of Care and Competence
Originating in the early 1990’s, the “Commitment of Care” was formally adopted by major U.S. pregnancy help affiliation organizations in January 2001. Focusing primarily on positive client care, these ethical codes of practice dispelled the abortion activists’ false accusations and formed the basis for strong client services approval ratings.
Robust growth of pregnancy help efforts in specific – and non-profit entities in general – has brought additional scrutiny of these organizations. In response, the Leadership Alliance of Pregnancy Care Organizations (LAPCO), added new basic standards for organizational competency. Integrating these ethical codes of practice into the existing client-care elements produced the expanded document now known as the “Commitment of Care and Competence.”
Introduced in 2009 and updated in 2024, this commitment to ethical practices is the core standard for affiliation for all major life-affirming pregnancy help affiliate groups. We encourage affiliates to print the Commitment of Care and Competence and hang it up in your lobby.
