Students will learn about different methods of hormonal contraceptives; their mechanism of action. their health risks and proposed health benefits. We will also look at current research into fertility awareness based methods (FABM's) including the creighton model system and it's health women's health application called Naprotechnology.
 
Objectives
 
1. Review the different options for hormone contraceptives.
2. Review the marketed health benefits vs. the negative risks of hormone contraception.
3. Discuss the methods of Fertility Awareness Based Methods and their effectiveness.
4. Discuss Naprotechnology a new science that treats the underlying condition in women's health issues. 
5. Provide examples of how naprotechnology is used in practice.

Teresa Kenney is a women's health nurse practitioner who has been practicing at Pope Paul VI Institute for 17 years. She was born and raised in Omaha and went to the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing where she received a nurse practitioner degree. She is a certified medical consultant practicing the new reproductive health science developed by Dr. Thomas Hilgers called NaproTechnology. Teresa has been publishing  a newsletter online since 2008, called Fertility Care for Young Women, which is designed to educate young women about health and the gift of their fertility. She is a member of the American Academy of Fertility Care professionals and previously taught the Creighton Model Fertility System as a fertility care practitioner for 7 years. Teresa and her husband Daniel have been married for 17 years and have eight children. She frequently speaks to groups at Churches, Catholic high schools, and other events promoting Naprotechnology and Fertility Awareness  to women and men of all ages. She also works part time for Sancta Familia Medical Apostolate, a wonderful new Catholic health care center in Omaha, providing women's health and fertility care services.

 

Refund Policy

1. Refunds for non-attendance will only be awarded if non-attendance is the direct result of an unplanned or unannounced outage. When a registrant is unable to access a webinar/course due to an unplanned or unannounced server outage of Heartbeat International Academy, the HeartbeatInternational.org website, or HeartbeatServices.org website, Heartbeat International will contact the registrant to notify them of the refund due them and issue the refund. Refund will be made to the registrant within 1 week of the cancelled event subject to processing fees.

2. When a course/webinar is cancelled for which individuals have registered, Heartbeat International will send a notification to each registrant per email or phone. Full refund will be sent to registrant within one week of cancellation.
