About the Presentation

In this course the nurse/attendee will learn the major risk factors leading to post partum depression, how to help avoid post partum depression and to prepare the mother for real adjustments that come with motherhood. Knowing that PPD baby blues impact 50-80% of all moms, and 20% of those moms go on to experience major PPD, especially among higher risk clients, this is an important area to address with clients. You will learn tools and knowledge to help prevent PPD with your clients. You will learn:

  1. Major Risk Factors for PPD
  2. Ways to prevent PPD in your clients
  3. How to Address signs and symptoms
  4. Ways to Assist a client currently struggling with PPD
  5. Learn improved consulting skills for PPD clients

  2. Explain the muti-faceted approach for providing Pregnancy Centers with preventive measures to reach clientele.

Rebecca Dawson holds an M.A. in Counseling from the Grace College Graduate School She has been employed in the Mental Health filed and worked closely with Pregnancy Care Centers. She is a former adjunct Graduate Professor for the Grace College Counseling Department and authored several articles (including published articles for Focus on the Family). She is also the author of, "Help! I'm a Mom To Be!" A preventive postpartum depression tool book

 Refund Policy

1. Refunds for non-attendance will only be awarded if non-attendance is the direct result of an unplanned or unannounced outage. When a registrant is unable to access a webinar/course due to an unplanned or unannounced server outage of Heartbeat International Academy, the HeartbeatInternational.org website, or HeartbeatServices.org website, Heartbeat International will contact the registrant to notify them of the refund due them and issue the refund. Refund will be made to the registrant within 1 week of the cancelled event subject to processing fees.

2. When a course/webinar is cancelled for which individuals have registered, Heartbeat International will send a notification to each registrant per email or phone. Full refund will be sent to registrant within one week of cancellation.
